Well what can I say about me, I have always been into horses since I was about 13, when my dad placed a bet
on the great Chaplin`s Club while we were on holiday and it duly won and I was hooked. We also went to Bath
that year and it was my first experience of a race course. I continued later to have bets on horses and loved the
system approach of people like Nick Mordan, in fact it was the first time I had realise that you could make money from backing horses. I have bought several books on lots of different racing subjects since then and have also been involved with tipping lines and racing magazine distribution. This was my way to get involved in racing at that time as there was no Internet like today, when I promoted the tipping lines it was all mail shots and free trials. I had my good time doing this and meet some really nice people. Guess my greatest moment was being pirated by a relay agent, you know you are doing a good job if they wanted to pirate you.lol. After taking time out from horse racing, although you never lose the bug, I decided it was time to have another go and after looking at the market, my partner and I decided that a free horse racing magazine was the way to go. After producing our first copy of Carry On Racing and distributing it ourselves to every person who was someone in racing, we were approached by Alan and Lucy Normile, who invited us down to their yard. I was to say the least very excited. After I had explained our future plans to them, they offered us a horse and their support to set up the Carry On Racing club. It was an offer we could not refuse and the club and our first horse Miss Carry On was born. Sadly Miss Carry On was put down this year due to cancer. That was a sad day for us all and a quick in site to the harder side of racing and losing a horse at any time is not nice but with her being our first ever runner it made it worse. We have certainly learned a lot since we set up carry on racing and are now ready for the new challenges ahead. We are a very Scottish base racing club although we do have links with the Pavel stable in Germany and plan to have a horse with him at some point soon and of course when we do there are great opportunity's to go racing abroad. We of course we will all way try to work with stables where ever we have members so the rest of the UK and Ireland are always possibility's for us. Right now our concentration is in the central belt of Scotland, and Perth shire area, as 90% of Scotland`s population is a mere hour and a half away from Susan Bradburne and Lucy Normiles yards, so there is no reason why you as a member can not enjoy the stable visits when ever you want subject to the trainers not racing that day and ourselves being available to meet you there. The choice is pretty clear, be one of our exclusive members with that personal touch and the feeling that you are involved, or be one of 20,000 in another club and have to go with crowds of people and be a number. There are other ways of getting involved with racing through syndicates of 20 people but the risks are higher and you need to have personal insurance and there can also be surprise bills. Our way is designed to give you everything for a one off payment guaranteed, and the chance to become part of a exclusive club. We plan to have up to 12 horses as more people join the 300 club so if you are a member then recommend us to a friend, if your not yet a member join today and lets increase our horses from 2 to three and get to that 12 we so desire. My final point before I leave you is this, I have met lots of people setting up carry on racing just because of the Club which has increased my group of friends and aided my business through the contacts that I have made, so if it can do it for me, what can it do for you?
Be lucky and I hope to speak and meet you all soon.
Shaun
