Some will know Susan and many have heard of her. After all she and her small but exceptional team have been professionally involved in the business of training and racing horses for nearly 20 years, turning out the best part of 200 winners. Susan has a record that can only inspire her younger counterparts and give them an in site to what can be achieved with with a small stable. Blue Charm’s dual victories at Aintree in April and November 1998 before going 2ndin the 1999 Grand National Absailor winner of the John Perrat Trophy (over the National fences) in 1993 Off the Bru – 3rd in the Scottish National 1992 with John Bradburne General Chandos winner of the Future Champion Chase at Ayr 1987 Course Records General Chandos holds the 2.4 mile chase record at Perth Eva’s Charm holds the 3 mile chase record at Musselburgh Bodfari Signet holds the 2 mile hurdle record at Musselburgh Sonsie Mo holds the 2 mile chase record at Musselburgh Chergan won no less than six times and was second on 17 occasions from 1999 to 2005 Family Susan`s family are steeped in racing history too with her husband Johnny Bradburne completed the National Course on 7 occasions and her son Mark Bradburne ( married to Gee Armatage another fantastic lady Jockey) who along with his current successes this season also came 3rd on Lord Atterbury behind Amberleigh House in the 2004 Grand National. Susan's daughter Lorna and Mark in 2001 landed a Double at Musselburgh on the same day with Chergan & Miss Elie. You wouldn’t have put money on it to happen again but it did, two weeks later with the same horses.
