Alan and Lucy Normile have been training racehorses from the tranquil surroundings of Duncrievie, Glenfarg for about seven years and have gradually built up a smart, efficient and friendly racing yard.

They were both born and brought up in the racing community. As an Irishman, Alan has it in his blood and has spent many years working in both Flat and National Hunt yards in England and Ireland. Lucy has been involved with horses for many years, starting in the Pony Club and later point to pointing. This led to a job with Kim Bailey in Lambourn, which is where she met Alan.

After moving to Scotland, Alan and Lucy started training point to pointers. This expanded into a full training establishment in 1999, the same year in which they were married.

They have a five furlong all-weather gallop with a good hill to ensure a proper work out for the horses. This facility makes a great difference to the horses, especially in winter when their preparation should not be undertaken on muddy or frosty ground and they need a sound and reliable surface on which to work. They have a really great team of staff, who all work very hard all year round through rain and shine - they are all invaluable for their efforts.

They have stabling for 40 horses, with potential for more if required. They have the use of 60 acres of grazing. There is an outdoor school, a covered horse-walker and a variety of schooling logs, tyres, hurdles and fences. The surrounding area has some great places to hack and horses are often taken to the loch for a paddle or a swim at St Andrews beach.

Lucy & Alan and family have a extra interest in Carry On With Pride as Lucy's mum breed the horse and her family have watched her grow and developer into what we  all believe is a potentially useful horse and a future winner for us this year.

Lucy and Alan were our first Trainers and we will always have horses with them as they are two of the nicest people we have met and very talented young trainers.
